Two excellent examples of Social Media campaigns were presented at the Ad Summit in New York today.
The first was based around the popular illustrations from the TV series Mad Men by Dynae Moe. Fans could create their own MadMen avatars and distribute them via Facebook, Tweets, iphone wallpaper and other venues. The campaign drove over 1 million unique visitors to the site and resulted in the creation of over 600,000 avatars. That’s over 600,000 long term adverts for free! This is exactly the sort of positive campaign that SociaLNK likes to promote.
The second is an excellent example of reputation building one of the strategies that SociaLNK recommend to our clients. The campaign was based purely around a Facebook poll . The questionaire asked users which of a selection of charities the retailer “Target” should donate the $3 million it gives annually. The campaign attracted 600,00 unique visitors over a period 3 weeks and resulted in 70,000 new fans signing up for Targets Facebook page. Reputation is a critical factor in todays online marketplace and this campaign cleverly demonstrates positive ways we can do this.
Postively engaging clients through the use of small applications is an easy and affordable way to build brand awareness. All it takes it takes is a little creativity combined with some insight about your customers.
